putting money in the hands of black artists

Black Artist Forward is dedicated to promoting black artists by significantly boosting their visibility and sales. Through our Funds in Action Initiative, we provide substantial financial support. We actively organize high-impact events and create lucrative opportunities for artists to be compensated. Additionally, we offer comprehensive information about available job openings and grants in our area. Our unwavering commitment is to empower black artists in our community by providing impactful financial opportunities.

Our Core Initiatives

02

equity in the arts

Black Artist Forward boldly champions black artists in our community by actively engaging with local leaders and arts organizations to advocate for more accessible grants and other financial opportunities. Through extensive research and networking, we have meticulously built a knowledge base to empower black artists with the essential tools for success. It is imperative for us to create a prominent seat at the table for black artists.

03

community building

We are committed to uniting our community's smaller black artist groups to create a powerful, united force. We are weaving together the generations of black art that have come before us and the generations to follow. Our mission is to establish a safe and empowering space in our community, addressing the trauma of feeling unseen, unheard, and unwelcome in art spaces. Together, we will heal and reclaim what is rightfully ours. Through our forums and events, we are paving the way to build strong and enduring connections.
